Maria is a classically trained soprano and singing teacher based in South-East London, currently accepting new pupils. Her performing career began as a child in professional Musical Theatre productions. Following early classical studies with Phillip Guy Bromley and Joy Robinson, Maria studied jazz and popular music in college, followed by classical vocal performance at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Her experience in a range of styles has shaped her into a well-rounded, adaptable performer and teacher.
Since 2022, Maria has given yearly lunchtime recitals at Winchester Cathedral, where she has been eager to share new and unfamiliar repertoire. Other recent performances include: Mabel - Pirates of Penzance, Marguerite - Faust (Gounod), Bach's St John Passion and Schubert's Mass in G. She has recently released an album of 20th century English songs, featuring composers including John Ireland, Liza Lehmann and Benjamin Britten.
